This Day

What a beautiful day.

It is overcast and a bit drizzly, but there’s an air of absolute beauty, warmth and tranquility that seems to halt all worry and demand you to revel in its splendor. There is, of course, so much to think and worry about and to go do, yet doing nothing but enjoying this day seems of vital importance.

Sight, sound and sensation are all entwined in this perfect moment right here and now. Sometimes people have no clue how easy it is to simply enjoy this life…

I mean, of course, humanity was compelled to earn its place on a planet it cannot leave. We have to render our services in exchange for a CURRENCY so that we can eat and have a home. Those basic rights of life doesn’t come free with the contract of birth ironically… Chasing itself around on a schedule based on another man-made institution, TIME.

Enslaved to the duty to survive and hopefully thrive, most find themselves in a mundane routine that often lacks daily fulfillment. ‘Work, home, sleep …repeat’ has become so predictable that we start feeling all spontaneity and lust for life has to come from a wild variety of activities or indulgences, scheduled in on weekends or holidays. Sloth style, comatose entertainment overdoses are at the end of most people's day…

Surely, if we would take a second to be honest with ourselves for a change, we all know this ultimate truth: that the basic enjoyment of a simple existence if lived intentionally and appreciated, would top any lavish Millionaire lifestyle!

For those of you who’d beg to differ, can go consult any self-made Tycoon about ‘what really matters’, once they got over the fame and virtues…

I have observed that many people have a distorted view of happiness and enjoyment based upon exposure, popular culture and tradition.

Life’s timeline doesn’t pause and we devote all of our healthy years to gather up security for an unsure future of possible old age or ill health, but always we remain hopelessly hopeful for many healthy years of much-deserved self-indulgence…

People don’t feel as if they deserve the right to enjoy every day, just for the sheer day itself. The simple journey and every step thereof…

How have we been conditioned to believe that life has to be difficult or that in order to enjoy the fruits of our labor and that the more intense the labor, the more lavish the fruits? Why are we so pragmatic that we lose sight of the wonder of life?

As children we marvel at everything, the whole world has magic in it… Blades of grass, clouds and water droplets… Simple joy is everlasting.

We lock the freedom to be amazed by these wonders away as if they are of less importance or a luxury we cannot afford anymore as adults. The freedom to be idle and simply exist in wonder, to enjoy it guilt-free.

Simply enjoying being alive on this earth today and the powerful realization that for now, YOU ARE HERE!

YOU ARE VALID AND VALUABLE.

UNIQUE AND SIGNIFICANT.

YOU CAN HAVE THIS DAY.

THIS IS YOUR DAY TO BE ALIVE.

LIVE IT!

Look around you at this beautiful world and enjoy it!
